In 2007, we at the Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute enhanced our Prescription Drug Benefit Cost and Plan Design Survey to meet the changing needs of the industry.

That enhancement generated a much richer collection of data than did previous surveys. So, we have created this supplemental resource. We believe it can help you more easily access and use the survey's findings as you plan your benefit programs.

Welcome to the first online reporting of the findings of our annual Prescription Drug Benefit Cost and Plan Design Survey.

The purpose of this report is to give you an overview of U.S. trends in prescription drug coverage, plan design, utilization, and drug costs.

Since its creation in 1995, this report has become an invaluable tool for employers, trade associations, benefits consultants, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and legislators.

In addition to containing much more data than before, these findings are, for the first time, being reported within the same calendar year as the survey.

PBMI gratefully acknowledges the support of Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America (TPNA), Inc. for providing a grant covering the costs of producing this report.

We hope you find this online report to be a valuable tool as you design your benefit plans.
