Medical evidence documents the clinical and economic return on the investment in drug therapies when patients comply with prescribed regimens. A patient’s active compliance with doctor’s orders or adherence is critical to effective health management. This interactive workshop will delve into multiple aspects of medication adherence.

Learning Objectives:

Define medication compliance, adherence and persistency.
Calculate medication possession ratio as a metric for adherence.
Discuss how medication possession ratio data provide direction for clinical interventions.
Identify ways for plan sponsors to work with pharmacy benefit managers to improve medication adherence.
