The
Center for Health Value Innovation, a 501c3 non profit, was launched in
January 200, based upon the vision of the Pitney Bowes icons David Hom
(former VP of Strategic HR) and Jack Mahoney MD (Global Director for
Health Strategy). Dave, Jack, Greg Judd, Cyndy Nayer and Randy
Vogenberg founded the Center. Our mission is to share the evidence that
value-based designs improve health status and reduce cost inflation.
Our board is guided by employers and employer-aggregators (Chambers of
Commerce, benefits consultants/brokers, health plans, Taft Hartley
plans, coalitions) and includes representatives from all stakeholder
groups, including clinicians and service providers (behavioral health,
claims aggregators, and more). We accomplish our mission through
identification of evidence, education and competency training with
tools/templates, and amplification of the evidence through print,
interactive seminars, social networks, and mentoring. Recently launched
is the beta version of the Value-Based Dashboard, which will, through a
series of click through levers, show an employer/ payer/ purchaser the
level of competency and the opportunities for improvement in
Value-Based Designs. We do not promote any particular design, as Value
